1Proving your financial means
- A scholarship or loan: a certificate is enough.
- A sponsor (commitment of support): they must have at least 120% of the social integration income + €1,062 net per month per supported student.
- A blocked account: €12,744 deposited, managed by the institution (if it offers this) or by a specialised company recognised by the Immigration Office.
2Permit renewal: new rules from 2026-2027
- Bachelor's: at least 60 credits passed after two academic years, then at least 40 more credits per year.
- Maximum durations set for each type of programme.
- Starting a 3rd programme within the first 3 years, after two programmes abandoned without success, may lead to a refusal.
- Moving from a higher-level programme to a lower level is assessed more strictly.
- Non-recognised institutions: stricter conditions (final enrolment, fees paid, language, funds for the whole year).
3Before the visa application
- In some countries, including Cameroon, a prior step with Campus Belgique (file and interview) comes before the visa application. Check with the official services in your country.
- Keep copies of all your documents and be ready to explain your study plan.
